ASHE alerts health care facilities to 3G phaseout
AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon are retiring their 3G networks, which could impact fire alarm and other building communication systems that use 3G service, the AHA’s American Society for Health Care Engineering advised members last week. ASHE recommends that all health care facilities verify whether their fire alarm and other systems use a 3G cellular communicator and if so take steps to ensure they continue to operate properly. ASHE members received an alert outlining recommended actions.
