SAMHSA awards mental health crisis response grants to states, territories
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration last week awarded states and territories $59.4 million in grants for community mental health crisis response. Eligible states and territories also can apply for up to $2 million in supplemental funding from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to expand 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline services, which provide 24/7 access to trained counselors through a three-digit phone, text and chat line for individuals experiencing a suicide, mental health or substance use crisis.
