Parade for pediatric cancer patients features Cancer Warrior Truck
The Cruise to Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, is an annual convoy of classic and modified cars, parading past the hospital for patients’ enjoyment. At the head of the line is the Cancer Warrior Truck, a customized blue pickup with a wooden truck bed and decals of a knight with a sword and shield, ready to battle cancer.
The Cancer Warrior Truck is part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families of children battling cancer. Founded by cancer survivor Scott Erickson, the organization provides financial assistance for medical bills, travel and other treatment-related expenses. Erickson transformed his passion for custom trucks and wood burning into a mission-driven initiative after his own cancer diagnosis, turning his vehicle into a symbol of hope and support.
