CHI St. Alexius Health Williston has a new outpatient program to address the growing mental health needs of older adults in northwestern North Dakota. Developed in partnership with Senior Life Solutions, it is designed for individuals 65 and older experiencing depression, anxiety, grief or other behavioral health challenges commonly associated with aging.

The program offers a comprehensive range of services, including group and individual therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management and ongoing clinical support. Participants typically attend sessions up to three times per week and receive care from a multidisciplinary team that includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed therapists and nursing professionals. Hospital leaders say the program is intended to help older adults in rural areas develop coping and communication skills while improving overall emotional well-being.

In addition to in-person treatment, the program includes teletherapy services, giving patients access to care from home via telephone, computer or tablet. Hospital officials noted that referrals can be made by healthcare providers, family members, friends or patients themselves, reflecting a community-wide approach to identifying individuals who may benefit from behavioral health support.
