Genesis Health System and Trinity Regional Health System - Quad City Health Initiative

What is it?

Since 1999, Genesis Health System in Davenport, Iowa, and Trinity Regional Health System in Rock Island, Illinois have collaborated to support the Quad City Health Initiative (QCHI), a community partnership working to create a healthy community. QCHI is led by a community Board including representatives from health care providers, non-profit agencies, public health, education, business, and local government. QCHI seeks to be our community’s recognized leader for creating collaborative action on health.

Who is it for?

All residents and organizations in the Quad City area.

Why do they do it?

The QCHI is a catalyst for improving the health and overall quality of life within the Quad City community. Because of QCHI, entities with aligned goals are able to sustain collaborative work across organizational boundaries and geographic borders.

Impact

QCHI recently completed its third comprehensive community health assessment, which was unique for its bi-state focus and its integration with local public health assessments. Currently, QCHI is focused on developing a collective impact approach to increase healthy eating and active living across our community. QCHI also works to educate and advocate on issues such as tobacco use and behavioral health. For more information,  visit www.qchealthinitiative.org.
