Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth - ImPACT Concussion Management Program

To improve the standard of care for athletes suffering concussions, the Sports Medicine Program at Gwinnett Medical Center offers the Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT) program free of charge. ImPACT is a sophisticated, research-based computer test developed to help clinicians evaluate recovery following concussion. A 20-minute test battery can be administered in the pre-season for a baseline and post-injury to track a concussion. Then when players suffer concussions, they take the test again and aren't allowed to play until they reach their baseline score.
