Incomplete or unclear communication and poor feedback can impact team effectiveness and lead to catastrophic patient events. Poor communication strategies can lead to ineffective feedback techniques and prevent the appropriate implementation of TeamSTEPPS, both of which can result in patient harm. Deconstructive feedback, a highly effective method for delivering feedback, fosters enhanced team support and functioning. This webinar covers how to use deconstructive feedback and TeamSTEPPS tools to disassemble communication events and promote dialogue that develops and maintains team synergy and effectiveness.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe how communication affects team processes and outcomes
- Compare and contrast destructive, constructive, and deconstructive feedback
