Nearly 11.7 million consumers selected or were re-enrolled in a 2015 health plan through or the state-based marketplaces as of Feb. 22, according to a report released today by the Department of Health and Human Services. About three-quarters of them enrolled through the platform and the rest through 14 state-based marketplaces. Nearly 7.7 million people (87%) enrolled through qualified for an advance premium tax credit, with an average value of $263 per person per month. More than half of enrollees (53%) were new consumers.
