Nearly 11.7 million consumers selected or were re-enrolled in a 2015 health plan through HealthCare.gov or the state-based marketplaces as of Feb. 22, according to a report released today by the Department of Health and Human Services. About three-quarters of them enrolled through the HealthCare.gov platform and the rest through 14 state-based marketplaces. Nearly 7.7 million people (87%) enrolled through HealthCare.gov qualified for an advance premium tax credit, with an average value of $263 per person per month. More than half of HealthCare.gov enrollees (53%) were new consumers.
