There was no significant change in coverage rates for employer-sponsored health insurance for large, medium or small firms in 2014, according to a new report from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Premiums for employer-sponsored insurance rose an average 4.7% for single coverage and 3.9% for family coverage, which is not significantly different from their growth rates in 2013, the authors said. The report shows ESI trends for 2003-2014, before and after passage of the Affordable Care Act, based on data from the insurance component of the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey.
