About 9.2 million people selected a 2017 health plan through HealthCare.gov during open enrollment, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services reported Friday. One-third were new HealthCare.gov consumers. Thirty-nine states used HealthCare.gov for 2017 open enrollment, which ended Jan. 31. The report includes data on plan selections by state and for Designated Market Areas, which are local media markets. CMS plans to issue a more detailed report next month that looks at plan selections across all states.
