Beginning Jan. 2, 2018, hospitals and critical access hospitals participating in the Medicare Electronic Health Record Incentive Program will submit their meaningful use data via the QualityNet Secure Portal rather than the Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced yesterday. For the calendar year 2017 reporting period, hospitals attesting for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program will submit data to the QualityNet Secure Portal; the EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System will be available for Medicaid-only hospitals. Medicaid-only hospitals should contact their state Medicaid agencies for information on how to attest, CMS said. Hospitals attesting for both the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs as dually eligible hospitals should register and attest for the Medicare program in the QualityNet system and contact their state Medicaid agencies to submit Medicaid attestations.
