AHA and its Institute for Diversity and Health Equity are providing members until March 15 to complete the biennial diversity and health equity benchmark survey, a critical tool for evaluating the state of the field’s efforts to ensure more inclusive and equitable access to quality health care. Hospital CEOs and leaders who work on diversity, equity and inclusivity issues received a reminder email with instructions on how to complete the survey. The survey should be completed by organizational leaders whose focus is on health equity and/or diversity and inclusion initiatives. Meanwhile, a new blog by Leon Caldwell, IFDHE’s senior director for health equity strategies and innovation, addresses head-on the natural hesitancies related to taking such surveys, as well as strategies for organizations to manage anxieties and discomfort with measuring DEI in their hospital and community.
