Once again, health coverage for tens of millions of Americans is at risk. The Senate is considering yet another proposal, by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA), to repeal significant parts of the Affordable Care Act, with a vote planned for next week.

The Graham-Cassidy proposal would result in millions losing coverage. It would erode key protections for patients and consumers. It would not stabilize the insurance market in the short or long term. And the new grant program for states would end after seven years, potentially creating massive disruption in the health care system as millions of individuals may lose their source of coverage.

That’s why we’re urging senators to vote “No” on Graham-Cassidy. And we’re providing you with the tools and resources you need to help reinforce this important message.

Yesterday we sent an alert asking hospital leaders to engage their employees, trustees, volunteers, and other members of the hospital family by asking them to contact their senators. They can visit our website where they can send an email to their senators with just a few easy clicks.

The Coalition to Protect America’s Health Care, of which the AHA is a founding member, is also ramping up with radio and digital ads, and social media tactics to urge senators to vote “No” on Graham-Cassidy.

And please watch for future alerts from the AHA with more tools and resources in the days ahead.

Remember, a vote is likely next week. Time is of the essence. Please join us and make your voice heard – now.
