Kansas Hospital Association president and CEO Tom Bell will retire in September, the association announced last week. Bell joined KHA as vice president and legal counsel in 1986 and served as senior vice president/legal counsel and executive vice president before becoming president and CEO in 2005. “Tom Bell has been a valued leader, trusted partner and friend to not only hospitals, health systems and patients throughout Kansas, but also to the American Hospital Association where he has played a key role in shaping our strategies and key initiatives for decades,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “He’s been a tremendous advocate for Kansans on both the state and national level. He’s devoted his career to expanding coverage, improving population health, developing new models of health care delivery, and ensuring rural and critical access hospitals can keep their communities healthy. The people of Kansas and our entire nation are better off because of Tom’s important contributions. We wish him a long and healthy retirement.”
