Task force issues roadmap to advance health care quality priorities

A National Quality Forum task force today released a report identifying opportunities to advance safe, appropriate, person-centered care over the next decade.

Launched last year with support from the AHA and others, the National Quality Task Force brought together nearly 100 leaders and diverse stakeholders from across the health care system to identify actionable opportunities to improve alignment across the delivery system and scale efforts shown to improve quality, value and safety.

The report identifies 10 “high-impact” opportunities, from implementing a single-person identifier to match individuals to their health records to standardizing quality data and normalizing alternative payment models to developing standard data and interventions to address social determinants of health and cultivating a culturally aligned and value-driven workforce.
