Lisa Kidder Hrobsky Named AHA’s Senior Vice President of Legislative and Political Affairs

WASHINGTON (August 6, 2021) – The American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced that Lisa Kidder Hrobsky has been promoted to senior vice president, legislative and political affairs. In this new role, Kidder Hrobsky will direct and oversee legislative advocacy initiatives, grassroots efforts and the AHAPAC engagement activities for the Association. A 17-year veteran of the AHA, she also will become a member of the executive management group.  

Most recently, Kidder Hrobsky served as group vice president, federal relations for the association. She is a key spokesperson for the AHA with Congress, the media and other stakeholders. Kidder Hrobsky also is a critical resource for AHA members regarding Congressional policy and political developments. She will maintain these responsibilities in her expanded role. 

“Lisa’s astute legislative, political and leadership abilities have been even more important than ever over the last 18 months as we advocated on Capitol Hill for our member hospitals and health systems during the pandemic,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “This promotion is in recognition of her tireless efforts to help hospitals meet their community’s needs.”

“Lisa is well-respected in the halls of Congress, with AHA members and our state association partners,” said Stacey Hughes, executive vice president, government relations and public policy of the AHA. “We know Lisa will take our advocacy and grassroots efforts to even higher levels.”

Previously, Kidder Hrobsky served as the president and CEO of the Idaho Hospital Association where she was responsible for directing and leading the association in its mission to strengthen their hospital and health systems’ viability to serve their communities. Earlier in her career, Kidder Hrobsky worked on Capitol Hill in several positions, including for the Senate Special Committee on Aging, working on issues of health care, Medicare and Medicaid policy.

A native of Idaho, Kidder Hrobsky earned her bachelor’s degree from Boise State and attended graduate school for an M.A. in political science at the University of Idaho.
