Statement on House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee Hearing on Medicare
Rural hospitals provide critical health care services to millions of Medicare patients in communities across the country.

Rural hospitals provide critical health care services to millions of Medicare patients in communities across the country. To secure the future of rural access to care, we strongly support the reauthorization of programs that are set to expire at the end of the year, including the Medicare-dependent hospitals and enhanced low-volume adjustment programs, and the ambulance add-on payment adjustment. We applaud the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee for holding today’s hearing and we look forward to working with all members of Congress to reauthorize these important programs for rural areas.
