AHA Announces 2018 Annual Membership Awards

WASHINGTON (April 24, 2018) – The American Hospital Association (AHA) announced today several awards that it will present during its 2018 Annual Membership meeting in Washington, May 6-8, 2018.

This year’s award honorees include:

 

C. Duane Dauner to Receive AHA Distinguished Service Award

The AHA will present its highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award, to Duane Dauner, special adviser and former president and CEO of the California Hospital Association. This award recognizes significant lifetime contributions and service to health care institutions and associations.

 

Ronald R. Peterson and Sister Carol Keehan to Receive AHA’s Award of Honor

The AHA will present its Award of Honor to Ronald Peterson, president emeritus of Johns Hopkins Health System and special adviser to the dean/CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine in the Baltimore area, and Sister Carol Keehan, president and CEO at the Catholic Health Association of the United States. The award is given to organizations and individuals in recognition of exemplary contributions to the health and well-being of people through leadership on major health policies or social initiatives.

 

Dr. Nicholas Wolter to be Presented the AHA Justin Ford Kimball Innovators Award

The AHA will present its Justin Ford Kimball Innovators Award to Dr. Nicholas Wolter, the retired chief executive officer of Billings Clinic in Billings, Mont. The award recognizes people or organizations that have developed or introduced an influential, innovative approach to health care financing and/or health care delivery to improve access or coordination of care.
