Senate Deal Reached to End Government Shutdown

Over the weekend, senators reached a deal to reopen the government. The agreement includes a three-bill, full-year spending package for 1) the Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration, 2) the Legislative Branch, and 3) the Defense Department construction projects and the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as a short-term continuing resolution to extend funding for the rest of the government until Jan. 30, 2026.

House Energy and Commerce Committee advances two-year telehealth extension, extends hospital-at-home program to 2029 

The House Energy and Commerce Committee Sept. 18 advanced legislation on expiring telehealth and hospital-at-home flexibilities. The AHA supported the passage of the Telehealth Modernization Act, which extended telehealth flexibilities for two years that are set to expire Dec. 31 and included a five-year extension of the hospital-at-home program.
