Revolutionizing Sepsis Management with Ochsner’s Solutions
Strengthening Sepsis Care: How Ochsner Health Aligns with CDC’s Sepsis Core Elements
Sepsis is a life-threatening response to infection and a leading cause of death in U.S. hospitals, contributing to approximately 350,000 deaths annually. In response, the CDC developed Hospital Sepsis Program Core Elements—seven coordinated strategies designed to help hospitals strengthen sepsis care. To showcase these protocols in action, the American Hospital Association’s Living Learning Network visited Ochsner Health, a system recognized for aligning its efforts with the CDC’s framework. The visit highlighted systemwide strategies, leadership engagement and team-based practices that drive improved outcomes in sepsis management.
