AHA Federal Health Care Executive Leaders

AHA Annual Meeting 2024 Federal Health Care Executive Recognition presentation.Federal Health Care Executive Recognition Programs

The American Hospital Association (AHA) sponsors two awards in recognition of federal health care executives who have had a significant and lasting impact on military and/or public health care delivery. Selections for these honors are made at the determination of the AHA and are not mandatory. The 2024 awards will be presented at the AHA Annual Membership Meeting, May 4-6, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

Nomination Process

A call for nominations is issued in November to the Surgeons General of the Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Navy and Coast Guard), the Undersecretary for Health at the Veterans Administration, the Defense Health Agency, and the Director of the Indian Health Service. Nominations are accepted for each award from each branch of the service.

For additional information about the awards, please contact Shawna Brown at 312-422-3309 or federalawards@aha.org.
