Going for the Gold
Olympic athletes have natural talent, dedication and drive – and every four years their skills are on display for all the world to see. Every day, Olympic-sized talent, dedication and drive are on display at hospitals across America. We celebrated our hospital Olympians for their inspiring work at our recent Leadership Summit. Circle of Life Award recipients Bon Secours Palliative Medicine, the Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence at UW Medicine and Susquehanna Health Hospice and Palliative Care were honored for their innovative programs in palliative and end-of-life care. The Maryland Hospital Association received the Dick Davidson Quality Milestone Award for Allied Association Leadership for its work to improve health care quality. Memorial Medical Center received the AHA-McKesson Quest for Quality Prize for its commitment to the Institute of Medicine’s quality aims. Five effective hospital-led collaborative programs that are focused on improving community health received AHA NOVA Awards. And the Cleveland Clinic received the AHA Equity of Care Award for its efforts to reduce health care disparities and foster diversity within their leadership and staff. The AHA thanks our award winners for their leadership – and all of you who go beyond the call of duty to do exceptional work on critical health care issues.
