True teamwork requires effective information sharing. Best practices, lessons learned, mistakes to avoid — all of these are teaching tools that make the biggest impact when they are shared with the widest possible audience.

At the AHA, we are constantly talking with members to hear their latest and greatest innovations and strategies for advancing the health of their patients and communities. We share those learnings with the field through webinars, in-person and virtual events, case studies and many other platforms.

I recently had the chance to share insights from my own organization — Atlantic Health System in New Jersey — on how we are tackling some of today’s biggest issues, including innovating to improve value, investing in emerging technologies and developing the next generation of health care leaders. See the video for highlights of that discussion.

While each hospital and health system has their own priorities and challenges, our mission as caregivers is the same: To advance the health of individuals and communities. Learning from each other is a great way to achieve that goal.
