AHA statement on additional emergency funding for hospitals & health systems

America’s hospitals and health systems urgently need an additional infusion of resources to support the nurses, doctors, and staff on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19.  The initial CARES Act funds released by the Administration last week are being utilized rapidly to provide care for infected patients, and so we urge prompt release of the remaining funds to aid the facilities most affected by the pandemic.

As the Congress begins discussions with the Administration on the next relief package, we appreciate the efforts of Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi to provide needed funding for hospitals and health systems to fulfill the pressing needs of the communities they serve.
