Hospital groups file brief on severability of ACAs individual mandate

While contending that the individual mandate to purchase health insurance contained in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is constitutional, if the U.S. Supreme Court finds it unconstitutional the court should rule on the severability of the mandate from the rest of the law and not remand the case to the lower courts for fact finding, four hospital groups today told the court in a friend-of-the-court brief.
