The AHA files amicus brief in "Observation" lawsuit

The AHA filed an amicus brief on Friday urging that in resolving a lawsuit challenging CMS policy on Medicare payment for Observation stays, the court be sensitive to the difficult situation hospitals find themselves in being caught in a tug-of-war between beneficiaries and the government over the appropriate use of "observation."
