Medical Center Enterprise - Healthy Woman
What is it?
The Healthy Woman program features a series of free monthly health-focused educational seminars, health fairs, and interactive events that focus on the emotional, physical, and fiscal well-being of women. Every October there is an annual anniversary event featuring a nationally known speaker with over 600 women in attendance. Women make between 70 and 90 percent of all family health care decisions, often while having to balance careers, primary and secondary families, and civic work. This program was created by Medical Center Enterprise’s Healthy Woman Advisory Council, a group of community leaders and volunteers, to provide up-to-date health care information for women and their entire family.
Who is it for?
All women in the Enterprise and surrounding communities are urged to register for free membership in the program at www.MCEHospital.com/healthywoman.
Why do they do it?
The purpose of this program is to empower women with the knowledge and confidence to make informed well-being decisions for themselves and their loved ones. Monthly presentations cover health care topics of interest to women such as heart, skin, and bone health by physicians and specialists in their respective fields. Seminars on Wills and Estate Planning and “Financial Check-up” have addressed financial well-being by experts in the field. Other programs focus on spiritual development and entertainment, and provide networking opportunities for women.
Impact
More than 2,000 women have become members of this free program since its inception in October 2008. Monthly events are hosted by Medical Center Enterprise and co-sponsors from the business community and media.
