American author and disability rights advocate Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

Coming together to exchange ideas, share knowledge and network will be key parts of the 2022 AHA Leadership Summit. This year will be our first in-person gathering in three years, and I look forward to seeing many of you July 17–19 in San Diego.

With the experience and insights we’ve gained during the past 2 1/2 years of the pandemic, it’s a perfect time to examine the work in our organizations, systems and communities. And just as importantly, it’s an opportunity to make changes to further improve the patient and family experience, strengthen our health care workforce and reimagine care delivery.

Content at this year’s Summit will focus on five critical areas in health care now:

  • Leadership 2.0: Leading When There’s No “Steady State"
  • Disrupt Your Strategy: Rebuilding and Reimagining Health Care Delivery
  • It’s the People: Overcoming Workforce Challenges to Build Resilient, High-Performing Teams
  • Value-Based Today: Creating Strategies and Care Models to Drive Value
  • Being Digital: Achieving Enterprisewide Digital Transformation

Additional content will center on behavioral health, health equity and governance excellence.

The beauty of Summit is it brings together such an outstanding and diverse group of people. These include C-suite leaders, clinical leaders, trustees, innovators and next generation health care leaders to talk innovation, transformation and resilience.

The Summit offers incredible opportunities to connect and reconnect with colleagues in the field. And it’s also an excellent event to bring a team of people from your organization.

You won’t want to miss this year’s event. You can get more information about the exciting sessions and speakers, as well as register for the event by visiting AHA.org.

I hope to see you in San Diego.
