Celebrating Patients’ Return Home with ‘Theme of Rocky’ Send-off
Video is loading.
Staff at Baystate Health, based in Springfield, Mass., are celebrating the strength and resilience of recovered COVID-19 patients. Announced as "Code Rocky," health care workers gather in the hospital lobby while the Rocky Balboa theme song is played in the background. With their consent, discharged patients are met with a standing ovation to recognize the healing and recovery process as they fought to the finish line.
"Code Rocky" is being adopted across all Baystate Health hospitals. Other hospitals and health systems are saluting the recovery of COVID-19 patients with similar celebratory send-offs.
