Please contact your senators and representatives and urge them to eliminate the $4 billion in Medicaid DSH cuts for the next fiscal year. More details follow on the FY 2021 DSH cuts and services that Medicaid DSH hospitals provide nationally.
The Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) program provides financial assistance to hospitals serving a disproportionate number of low-income patients and thereby ensures that Medicaid and uninsured patients have access to health care services.

CMS Releases Guidance on Third Party Payers and Medicaid DSH Payments
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services yesterday published guidance for states on the treatment of third party payers in determining the hospital-specific Medicaid disproportionate share hospital payment limits for the state plan rate year 2017 DSH audits.
