Loyal and LifePoint Partner to Improve the Patient Experience
In a move designed to help patients more easily navigate their care, LifePoint Health has signed a five-year strategic partnership with tech startup Loyal to deploy its new artificial intelligence (AI) multi-experience platform across its 80 hospitals.
The platform will provide LifePoint patients with individualized guidance on connecting with caregivers, combining consumer insights with health care systems’ operational capabilities and workflows. The deal builds on a relationship that started in 2017 as LifePoint applied Loyal’s AI chatbot and live chat solution to handle appointment scheduling and triage functionality at its hospitals. Loyal also manages provider data, front-end search capabilities as well as provider reviews and ratings on behalf of various LifePoint locations.
As part of the partnership, David Dill, LifePoint’s president and CEO, will join Loyal’s board of advisers. The AHA Development Fund, managed by Concord Health Partners, invested in Loyal in 2020. The fund invests in early-stage health care companies that provide products, services and solutions that help hospitals and health systems transform care delivery, spur innovation among members, connect hospitals and entrepreneurs, and drive results.
