What is it?

Children’s Village is a model of collaborative care with multiple partners providing more than 30 types of health, therapeutic intervention and support services that positively impact outcomes for children. Families register, tell their story once and access coordinated care.

Who is it for?

Children with special health or developmental needs and their families who reside in central Washington State. Services are provided regardless of a family’s ability to pay; 85 percent of patients are on Medicaid.

Why do they do it?

Area children with special needs had no easy access to high-quality, coordinated services, and families often had to drive hours for treatment.

Impact

Since opening in 1997, more than 16,000 children have received services at Children’s Village. Parents report significantly higher rates of “feeling like a partner in their child’s care” than the national average.
