As Congress begins to focus on its end of the year agenda for 2022, America’s hospitals and health systems respectfully request that you consider the following priorities.
Advocacy
Every year, a Rural Advocacy Agenda presented by the AHA to Congress lays out the legislative and regulatory priorities for rural hospitals. These currently include:
Representatives from AHA’s Rural Health Services Committee met in person on September 15-16, 2022 in Washington, DC.
Public and private entities may apply through Jan. 6 for up to $100,000 each to plan and develop integrated health care networks to expand access to basic health care services, coordinate and improve care and outcomes, and advance health equity for rural underserved populations.
Hospitals and health systems are working to address the societal factors that influence health, including the social needs of their patients, social determinants of health in their communities and the systemic causes that lead to health inequities.
The House today voted 230-201 to pass a continuing resolution extending current federal funding levels for health care and other programs through Dec. 16. The Senate approved the measure yesterday. Current government funding expires at midnight tonight.
