2023 AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award Application Period Now Open
The AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award recognizes the collaborative work of hospitals and community organizations to improve the health status of individuals and communities. Specifically, the award honors AHA members for successful efforts that:
- improve community health status whether through health care, economic or social initiatives,
- are collaborative, joint efforts with other health care systems or hospitals and/or with other community organizations, and
- engage community members to identify issues and co-design solutions or interventions.

The hospital/health system submitting the application must be an AHA member. Applications are due on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022. Please convert your application, including any support letters, into a single PDF file to ensure all materials are seen by the committee and to minimize the chance of distortion. The PDF file name must include your organization name. Email the application to firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do you know if your program is ready to apply for the AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award?
A member hospital or health care system, in collaboration with community organizations, who is measuring and evaluating the impact of its work on community health status is ready to apply for an award.
In 2023, up to five organizations will be recognized with AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Awards.
