ASTP/ONC to exercise enforcement discretion for health IT developers for certain certification criteria

The Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy/Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT announced Nov. 24 that it will exercise temporary enforcement discretion for health IT developers regarding certification criteria compliance dates and attestations of condition and maintenance for certification to account for the impact of the lapse in government appropriations which rendered the ASTP/ONC website unavailable, including access to attestation submission portals, testing tools and other resources.

ASTP seeks comments on survey of health tech companies

The Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy/Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Aug. 26 released a notice seeking comments on a proposed survey of health technology companies to assess implementation and experiences with information blocking, the 21st Century Cures Act and health care application programming interfaces. Comments must be submitted by Sept. 25.
