Resource provides insights and recommendations to help you with strategies to support, retain and recruit team members
The AHA today released its 2023 Health Care Workforce Scan — an annual snapshot of America’s hospital and health system employment, based on reports, studies and other data sources from leading organizations and researchers. The scan also offers valuable insights and practical recommendations to help organizations think innovatively and act boldly to support, retain and recruit staff.
Hospitals and health systems are accustomed to managing workforce pressures in a constantly changing environment, but the COVID-19 pandemic has amplified existing workforce challenges. Under the direction of the AHA Board Task Force on Workforce, the Association continues to provide the field with tools, data, successful practices and strategies to strengthen the health care workforce now, in the near future and over the long term.
The 2023 Health Care Workforce Scan focuses on three core challenges:
- Reconnecting clinicians to purpose
- Providing support, training and technology clinicians need to thrive in multiple care delivery environments, and
- Recruiting innovatively, investing in retention and building a robust pipeline
