Lake Region Healthcare - Lake Region Takes Root

Families in the Lake Region area who have difficulty accessing affordable fresh produce. Currently, WIC families, local food shelves and shelters are the main distribution points.

What is it?

Through the Lake Region Takes Root project, Lake Region Healthcare and community partners have established a community garden on a 1.5-acre lot. The garden grows fruits and vegetables for families who have difficulty accessing healthy foods. It also educates the community about nutrient-dense foods, various growing methodologies and irrigation practices. For more information, please visit the website.
