We partner with multidiscipline faculty teams of experienced clinical and non-clinical health care profressionals who are experts at teaching, using and implementing TeamSTEPPS. We keep didactic lecture low and incorporate experiential learning in multiple formats, including low-tech simulations, group discussion, and other activities. Participants walk away from an AHA Team Training TeamSTEPPS course with actionable next steps and manageable plans.

TeamSTEPPS Course Offerings
Whether you're just beginning your journey with TeamSTEPPS or looking to deepen your impact, we offer tailored training to meet every level of experience. From the foundational TeamSTEPPS Essentials for new team members, to the in-depth TeamSTEPPS Master Training and a new TeamSTEPPS Sustainment series for seasoned champions—our programs equip health care professionals with the tools, confidence, and strategies to drive lasting teamwork and communication improvements across teams and organizations.
TeamSTEPPS Essentials Course
Our 3-part virtual TeamSTEPPS Essentials Course offers practical strategies to enhance team performance and patient care. Explore key principles of TeamSTEPPS 3.0 through interactive sessions on communication, leadership, mutual support and situation monitoring. Participants will learn how to effectively use and implement these tools within their own teams and work areas. Each Zoom session includes real-world scenarios, hands-on practice, and discussions with peers from across the country, ensuring you can apply these tools in your daily work.
3-Week Virtual Series
1-2 Attendees: $500 per person
3-9 Attendees: $450 per person*
10+ Attendees: $400 per person*
CE Credit: 4 credits (or equivalent)**
This 4-hour virtual training, delivered in a 3-part Zoom series, equips both clinical and nonclinical health care professionals and students with the core principles and practical tools of TeamSTEPPS 3.0. Participants will leave with a shared language, hands-on experience, and the confidence to apply TeamSTEPPS tools in real-world settings — making it ideal for those new to the framework.

TeamSTEPPS Master Training Course
Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS) is an evidence-based set of teamwork tools designed to optimize team function and improve patient safety. Our TeamSTEPPS Master Training course will cover all the TeamSTEPPS tools and principles - what they are, how to use them, and how they can influence culture change. Participants walk away highly knowledgeable regarding the application of TeamSTEPPS tools and strategies to improve the delivery of safe and efficient care within their unit, division or department. This course is taught by, and produces, Master Trainers.
2-Day In-Person Courses
1-2 Attendees: $900 per person
3+ Attendees: $750 per person*
CE Credit: 13 credits (or equivalent)**
This 2-day in-person course is led by an interprofessional faculty team with a "train-the-trainer" orientation utilizing games, scenarios and activities. This approach allows participants to experience and learn the TeamSTEPPS fundamental content, and provides established resources and skills to create training strategies and learning experiences.

Over 8 weeks, participants will be introduced to TeamSTEPPS tools and principles through short self-paced interactive learning modules. Alongside these modules, participants will be guided and supported in project-based learning for the development of their own TeamSTEPPS rollout. On Thursdays, participants and faculty come together for a live workshop to review, apply, share and collaborate.
